האישה הנאמנה

‏היה היה איש שעבד כל חייו וחסך כל כספו.

הוא היה ממש קמצן בנושא כסף.

‏הוא אמר לאשתו: כשאמות, אני מבקש שתקחי את כל כספי ותשימי אותו יחד עימי בארון ‏הקבורה.

אני רוצה לקחת את הכסף איתי לחיים שאחרי החיים.

אשתו הבטיחה לו מכל הלב שאחרי שהוא ימות היא תשים את הכסף בארון.

‏ובכן יום אחד הוא מת ואשתו ישבה בלוויה לבושה שחורים כשחברתה לידה.

‏כשהטקס עמד להסתיים ועמדו לסגור את הארון ‏היא ניגשה עם קופסה שהייתה בידה

והניחה אותה בארון. הקברן סגר את הארון ‏במנעול והוריד אותו לבור.

חברתה אמרה לה: “אני בטוחה שלא היית מספיק טיפשה כדי לקבור את הכסף יחד עם ‏בעלך.”

‏אמרה האישה : “אני נוצרייה מאמינה ולא יכולה לחזור מהבטחה שנתתי לבעלי.”

“‏”את רוצה לומר ששמת את כל הכסף בארון יחד איתו?

“בוודאי”, אמרה האישה, “הכנסתי את כל הכסף לחשבוני בבנק ורשמתי לו צ’ק. אם הוא יוכל לפדות אותו אז הוא יוכל להשתמש בכסף.”

While walking through Golden Gate Park in San Francisco , a man came 

upon another man hugging a tree with his ear firmly against the tree. 

Seeing this he inquired, ‘Just out of curiosity, what the heck are you doing?’

‘I’m listening to the music of the tree,’ the other man replied. 
‘You’ve gotta be kiddin’ me.’

‘No, I’m not.  Would you like to give it a try?’

Understandably curious, the man says, ‘Well, OK…’ So he wrapped his arms

around the tree and pressed his ear up against it.

With this, the other guy slapped a pair of handcuffs on him, took his wallet,

 jewelry, car keys, then stripped him naked and left.

Two hours later another nature lover strolled by, saw this guy handcuffed to

the tree stark naked, and asked, ‘What the heck happened to you?’

He told the guy the whole terrible story about how he got there. 
When he finished telling his story, the other guy shook his head in sympathy,

walked around behind him, kissed him gently on the neck and said,

‘This ain’t gonna be your day, Cupcake…

שלושה גברים ישבו יחד והתרברבו זה באוזני זה, עד כמה הנשים שלהם צייתניות.

הראשון, שהתחתן עם אישה אמריקאית, סיפר איך יום אחרי שחזרו מירח הדבש פקד עליה לעשות את כל עבודות הבית. “אומנם לקח לה מספר ימים להפנים” הוא סיפר “אבל ביום השלישי, כשחזרתי הביתה מהעבודה, הבית היה נקי, הכלים היו שטופים וככה זה מאז”.

השני, שהתחתן עם איטלקיה, התרברב כי כבר בירח הדבש הודיע לאשתו שתפקידה הוא לנקות, לשטוף כלים ולבשל עבורו. “נכון, בהתחלה לא היו תוצאות” אמר “אבל ביום השלישי הבית היה נקי ומסודר וארוחת ערב טעימה חיכתה לי על השולחן. ככה זה מאז”.

השלישי, שהתחתן עם אישה ישראלית, סיפר כי יום לאחר החתונה, הוא כבר הודיע לה שעליה לנקות את הבית, לשטוף כלים, לעשות כביסה ולגהץ את הבגדים, לפחות פעמיים בשבוע. לנקות חלונות ולהגיש לו ארוחה חמה בכל ערב. “נכון, ביום הראשון לא ראיתי כלום” סיפר “גם ביום השני לא ראיתי כלום. אבל ביום השלישי, רוב הנפיחות ירדה ויכולתי לראות במטושטש את הדרך למטבח, שם הכנתי לעצמי כריך ורוקנתי את הכלים מהמדיח…”

זוג מבוגר מגיע לרופא לבדיקות. הרופא מציץ בבדיקות הדם ואומר:

 “לשניכם יש אותו סוג דם”

הבעל: 30 שנה היא מוצצת לי את הדם, אתה מתפלא?

Linda Burnett, 23, a resident of San Diego, was visiting her
in-laws and while there went to a nearby supermarket to pick up some
groceries. Later, her husband noticed her sitting in her car in the

driveway with the car running and the windows rolled up.  Her 
eyes closed with both hands behind the back of her head. He became
concerned and walked over to the car. He noticed  that Linda’s eyes
were now open and she looked very strange. He asked her if she was
okay; Linda replied that she had been shot in the back of the head and
had been holding her brains in for over an hour (at least it seemed
that way to her, it actually had been 15 minutes, she blamed the
inability to tell time on her head injury).

The husband called the paramedics, who broke into the car because
the doors were locked and Linda refused to remove her hands from her
head.

When they finally got in, they found that Linda had a wad of bread
dough on the back of her head.  From the back seat a Pillsbury biscuit
canister had exploded from the heat, making a loud noise that sounded
like a gunshot, and the wad of dough hit her in the back of her head.
When she reached back to find out what it was, she felt the dough and
thought it was her brains. She initially passed out, but quickly
recovered.

Linda is blonde, a Democrat, and an Biden supporter; but that
could all be a coincidence.

The defective biscuit canister was analyzed and it was determined to
be Trump’s fault.

יהודי ניגש אל יוסוף העשיר הערבי וביקש ממנו עשרים אלף דולר הלואה לפני חג הפסח, והבטיח להחזיר תוך עשרה ימים כפול.

אמר לו יוסוף: איך אתן לך הלוואה ואפילו את שמך אני לא יודע?  ענה לו היהודי: שמי פסח, עשיר גדול אנוכי ומילה שלי זו מילה. אתה יכול לברר עלי.

הערבי שקרץ לו לעשות כסף קל הלך לברר ברחוב היהודים מיהו אותו פסח. נכנס אל רחוב היהודים והנה המולה רבה.  כולם רצים, מתרוצצים וקונים מכל הבא ליד. ריח עז של ניקיון מציף את האויר, ומכל בית עולים ריחות של בישולים.

ניגש יוסוף אל האנשים ושאל לפשר החגיגה, ענו לו האנשים: מה זאת אומרת ? עוד מעט פסח בא.

שמע זאת הערבי ואמר בלבו: כזה חשוב הוא פסח, שווה לעשות איתו עסקים.

חיפש ומצא את היהודי, וללא שאלות העניק לו את ההלוואה ובלב שמח התחיל לספור את הימים.

מיד כאשר עברו עשרה ימים יצא יוסוף לרחוב היהודים והתחיל לחפש את פסח. חיפש וחיפש ולא מצא.

שוב שאל עוברים ושבים, מישהו ראה את פסח? כולם פתחו עליו עיניים ואמרו: פסח ? ברוך השם שהלך כבר. השאיר את כולנו מרוששים, ללא פרוטה בכיס, עם כאבי בטן וגזים, וכעת כולנו מתאוששים ממנו.

שמע זאת אותו ערבי ואמר לעצמו: טוב, לפחות לא נפלתי לבד..

The minister dies and the congregation decides, after some time,

 that his widow, should marry again. Since it is a small village the only available candidate is the local butcher. Although very reluctantly, since she was used to living with a bible scholar, she accepts. After the marriage, on Friday night just after taking a bath – the new husband tells his wife,

“Look, my mother always said that before the beginning of the weekend it was a blessing to have sex.” They do it and then on Saturday he tells her, “According to my father it is a blessing to have sex during the day before the Sabbath. There they go again and when it is time to go to sleep he tells her, “My grandfather told me that one should always have sex on Sabbath night.” Finally they go to sleep and when they wake up the next morning he tells her, “My aunt says that a Christian man always starts the Sabbath by having sex. So lets do it.” Finally on Monday she goes out to the market and meets a friend that asks her, “So how is the new husband?” “Well, an intellectual he isn’t, but he comes from a wonderful family.”

גברת ברנשטיין, ייקית חריפת שכל, גרה בדירת קרקע בבית דו-קומתי בלב שכונת רחביה, מול הצריף של הנשיא לשעבר יצחק בן-צבי. היה לה כלב מלטזי קטן , עצבני, נבחן ונשכן. פעם בשנה היא היתה מטלפנת אליי שאבוא להעריך את שווי הדירה, כי הבת שלה לוחצת עליה שתעבור לגור לידה בקיבוץ גבעת ברנר. בטלפון העשירי איבדתי קצת את הסבלנות והערתי: “סליחה, משהו השתנה בדירה מאז השנה שעברה?” גברת ברנשטיין לא נעלבה וענתה לי: “תתפלא, צבעתי את המטבח בצבע קרם יפה, סידרתי פינת ואזה לפרחים, יש לי עוזרת-בית חדשה שלא גונבת, והכלב עבר טיפול אצל שיננית”.

לגברת ברנשטיין הקשישה היה זיכרון פנומנלי לפרטים הכי קטנים. כששאלתי אותה פעם איך היא שומרת על בהירות המחשבה, היא הסבירה: “כשאני חוזרת הביתה עם נובלה חדשה מחנות הספרים של אדון לודוויג מאייר מול בניין ג’נרלי, אני קוראת בספר מההתחלה לסוף, כמו שנהוג, אבל מיד אחר כך אני קוראת בו שוב מהסוף להתחלה, בכדי לחדד את המוח. לפעמים אני משנה את הסדר ומתחילה לקרוא מהדף האחרון לראשון, ומנחשת כבר באמצע מה תהיה ההתחלה”.

בביקורים שלי אצלה, נהגה גברת ברנשטיין להושיב אותי על כורסת עור צבי גדולה ונוחה במיוחד שאביה הביא איתו מברלין. תמיד הערתי לה שמאוד נעים לי בכורסה הזאת ושאם היא תרצה למכור אותה פעם אני אהיה הראשון להציע לה מחיר.

הזמן עשה את שלו, ויום אחד קיבלתי טלפון מקיבוצניק מגבעת ברנר. “אני מבין שהיית בקשר חם עם אמא של אשתי”, הוא אמר ביובש והוסיף: “היא נפטרה לפני חודשיים וכתבה בצוואה שנפנה רק אליך כשנחפש מתווך שימכור את הדירה. אני יכול לשלוח לך את המפתח כבר היום עם סטודנט

שלנו שעולה לירושלים. פיניתי משם כל מה שצריך”.

למחרת בבוקר הגעתי לדירה ומצאתי אותה ריקה לגמרי. כשיצאתי, ראיתי את כורסת עור הצבי שכל כך אהבתי מוטלת בין פחי הזבל בחצר. בזהירות הרמתי את הכורסה והחזרתי אותה לסלון הריק בדירה. התיישבתי בה והתרפקתי על השיחות הבטלות שניהלה איתי הייקית החביבה שבלעה ספרים מהסוף להתחלה. אחרי שעה קלה טלפנתי למוביל שאול פישר ותיאמתי איתו שייקח את הכורסה לירוחם לדרמן הרפד. מלדרמן ביקשתי שיחליף בה כמה קפיצים ויעשה תיקונים אמנותיים, אבל שישאיר אותה בצורתה המקורית.

איך שאני מתחיל לתלות בחזית הבית שלט “למכירה”, צועק אליי אחד השכנים: “מה, היא מוכרת? למה היא לא אמרה לי? בשביל מה לשלם תיווך?” באותו רגע נזכרתי בסוחר הממולח אלימלך אלברטל, שתמיד יעץ לי: “לפני שאתה מפרסם, תעשה סיבוב בין השכנים”. אחרי חצי שעה כבר לא היה צורך בשלט. בהסכמת הקיבוצניק נסגרה עיסקה עם השכן, ששילם גם שילם דמי תיווך.

ואז, אחר הצהר­יים, מתקשר אלי לדרמן ומודיע: “מונשיין, רק שתדע, איך שהתחלתי לטפל בכורסה נפלה ממנה שרשרת זהב כבדה”. שיבחתי אותו על יושרו והערתי שהיום כבר לא מוצאים אנשי מקצוע הגונים כמוהו. אחרי שהוא מסר לי את השרשרת טלפנתי לחתן של גברת ברנשטיין כדי לדווח על המציאה. “תמיד שנאתי את הכורסה הזאת, אז זרקתי אותה”, הוא הגיב ביובש. “תבדוק כמה השרשרת שווה ונתחלק חצי-חצי”.

אני טס אל מנצורה הצורף ומניח את השרשרת על הדלפק שלו. איך שמנצורה רואה אותה, הוא חוטף עצבים וצועק: “מה אתם מבלבלים לי את המוח עם השרשרת הזאת? לפני שעה כבר היה כאן לדרמן ואמרתי לו שזה סתם עופרת צבועה ושהיא לא שווה כלום”.

כעבור שעה טלפן החתן היבש. עוד לפני שהספקתי לעדכן אותו שזרקתי את השרשרת לפח, הוא העיר באדישות: “פתאום נזכרתי, זו הייתה השרשרת של הכלב האנטיפט שלה”.

אדם נכנס למסעדה כשלצידו יען בוגר.
הוא מתיישב ומלצרית ניגשת אליו לקבל הזמנה. “
אני רוצה המבורגר, צ’יפס וקולה“, אומר האיש ופונה ליען: “
מה בשבילך?” “אני אקח אותו דבר” אומר היען.
כעבור זמן מה מביאה להם המלצרית את המנות. “
זה יעלה 66.4 ש“ח“.
האיש מכניס יד לכיסו ומושיט לה את הסכום המדויק.

למחרת שוב נכנסים האיש והיען למסעדה והאיש אומר

“אני רוצה המבורגר, צ’יפס וקולה“
. היען אומר “בשבילי אותו דבר“
. ושוב, בעת התשלום האיש מכניס יד לכיסו ושולף משם את הסכום המדויק.
העניין הופך לשגרה, עד שערב אחד נכנסים השניים למסעדה.

“כרגיל

?” שואלת המלצרית
. “לא,” אומר האיש “היום יום שישי.
לכן אבקש סטייק, תפוח אדמה אפוי וסלט“
. “אותו דבר בשבילי” אומר היען.
כעבור זמן מה חוזרת המלצרית עם המנות ועם החשבון ” 186.73 ש“ח“
. שוב שולח האיש יד לכיסו ושולף את הסכום המדויק.

המלצרית לא יכולה להתאפק יותר

“סליחה, אדוני, איך אתה מצליח תמיד להוציא את הסכום המדויק? “
ובכן,” משיב האיש “לפני מספר שנים מצאתי מנורה עתיקה.
שפשפתי אותה והופיע שד שהציע להגשים לי שתי משאלות.
המשאלה הראשונה שלי הייתה שבכל פעם שאצטרך
לשלם עבור דבר מה, רק אכניס את היד לכיסי והסכום המתאים יהיה שם“.
“זה מבריק!” התלהבה המלצרית. “
רוב האנשים היו מבקשים מיליון דולר או משהו כזה.
אבל אתה תמיד תהיה עשיר מספיק לכל מה שתרצה כל ימי חייך!”
“נכון“, ענה האיש, “אם זה קרטון חלב ואם זה רולס רויס
– הסכום הנדרש תמיד יהיה שם“.

“רק עוד דבר אחד

,” ביקשה המלצרית, “
מה העניין עם היען?”
נאנח האיש: “המשאלה השניה שלי הייתה פרגית גבוהה עם רגליים ארוכות
שתמיד תסכים לכל מה שאומר“.“.

Little Johny came home from school with a note
from his teacher saying that Johny was having
trouble telling the difference between boys and
girls, and would his mother please sit down and
have a talk with Johny about this. So Johnny’s
mother takes him quietly by the hand upstathes to
The bedroom, and closes the door.
“First, Johnny, I want you to take off my blouse”,
She said, so Johnny unbuttons The blouse and takes
it off.
“O.K., now take off my skirt”, and he takes off
The skirt.

Johnny finishes removing these too.

דובון קטון ניגש לשולחן, מתיישב בכיסאו הזעיר, נועץ מבט בקערה שלפניו, והנה היא ריקה.

“מי אכל את הדייסה שלי?!” הוא חורק.

אבא דוב מגיע לשולחן, מתיישב בכיסא הגדול, מסתכל בקערה הגדולה לפניו, והנה היא ריקה.

“מי אכל את הדייסה שלי?!” הוא שואג.

מציצה אמא דובה מהמטבח וצווחת:

“נמאסתם עלי כבר, בחיי, כמה פעמים צריך לחזור על כל הסיפור הזה?!

אמא דובה קמה ראשונה מהמיטה, אמא דובה העירה את כולם,

אמא דובה הכינה את הקפה, אמא דובה סידרה את הכלים במדיח,

אמא דובה הורידה כביסה, אמא דובה שמה אוכל בקערה של החתול,

אמא דובה סידרה את הבית ויצאה החוצה לקור, להביא את העיתון,

אמא דובה ערכה את השולחן, אמא דובה הוציאה החוצה את הכלב הארור, אמא דובה! השליכה את האשפה, ועכשיו, כשסוף סוף הואלתם לגרור לכאן את התחת שלכם ולזכות את אמא דובה בנוכחותכם, אז תקשיבו טוב, כי אני אגיד את זה רק עוד פעם אחת:

עוד  ל א   ה ס פ ק ת י  להכין את הדייסה המחורבנת שלכם!”.

A certain Sultan was one day struck with the difference between the cries of two beggars in the street near his palace. One of them was calling, “Oh Allah, oh bountiful One,” while the other cried, “Oh Allah! Give victory to the Sultan!”

The monarch, flattered by the interest which the latter showed in his welfare, called his wazir and said: “See to it that that beggar who keeps praying for me gets a roast chicken stuffed with gold pieces. And give a chicken cooked in the usual way to the other beggar.”

The wazir obeyed, and the man who had called Allah bountiful was gratefully turning away to carry the bird to his wife, when the other said to him, “Buy this chicken from me. I don’t have a wife nor have I and children. What I want is money, and not a cooked bird.”

“I have only a small coin,” replied the other, “and that is nothing like the value of a roast fowl.”

“You can have my chicken for your coin,” said the other; and so it happened that the beggar who praised Allah got not only a good dinner but also a small fortune.

This man now gave up begging, and opened a little shop. His companion, however, having spent his one small coin, returned to the palace gate and cried, “Oh Allah! Give victory to our Sultan.” The Sultan commanded a second chicken stuffed with gold to be given to him. On receiving it he hurried to his former comrade and offered it for another coin, which the now shopkeeper promptly paid.

Yet another day this beggar went near the palace and cried, “Oh Allah! Give the Sultan victory! ” Now the Sultan was angry and said, “What is this? I have made that fellow rich twice over and he still must beg. Bring him in to me.” When the beggar was brought in, the Sultan, frowning on him, asked, “Why do you go on begging when I have made you rich?”

“Alas, oh Sultan of the Age,” answered the beggar, “all that I have received at your Highness”s gate were two fowls, which I sold to another beggar who used to cry, Oh Allah! Oh Bountiful One! He has since grown rich and opened a shop.”

“Allah has shown that it is better to praise His bounty than to pray for my prosperity,” cried the Sultan in amazement.

בעל ואשה רצו לסמן אחד לשני מתי הם רוצים סקס, מבלי שהילדים יבינו. ערב אחד שלח האבא את בנו: “תגיד לאמא שתעלה למעלה, כי אני רוצה את הטלפון”.

הילד יורד וכעבור דקה אומר לאביו: “אמא מסרה שהטלפון לא זמין היום”.

ענה האב: “תמסור לאמא, שאם הטלפון לא זמין, אני הולך להתקשר מחוץ לבית”.

כעבור דקה חוזר הילד: “אמא מסרה שאם אתה מתקשר מבחוץ, היא פותחת פה מרכזיה!”

לאחר מריבה בין הבעל לאישתו הפולניה, צילצלה האישה לאימה ואמרה: “הוא רב איתי שוב, אני עוברת לגור איתך”.

האמא אמרה: “לא יקירתי, הוא חייב לשלם על טעותו –  אני עוברת לגור איתך”.

A guy took his blonde girlfriend to her first football game. They had

great seats right behind their team’s bench. After the game, he asked

her how she liked it.

“Oh, I really liked it,” she replied, “especially the tight pants and

all the big muscles, but I just couldn’t understand why they were

killing each other over 25 cents.”

Dumbfounded, her boyfriend asked, “What do you mean?”

“Well, they flipped a coin, one team got it and then for the rest of

the game, all they kept screaming was… ‘Get the quarterback! Get the

quarterback!’ I’m like…Helloooooo?It’s only 25 cents!!!!”

שמע זאת הערבי ואמר בלבו: כזה חשוב הוא פסח, שווה לעשות איתו עסקים.
חיפש ומצא את היהודי, וללא שאלות העניק לו את ההלוואה
ובלב שמח התחיל לספור את הימים.
מיד כאשר עברו עשרה ימים יצא יוסוף לרחוב היהודים
והתחיל לחפש את פסח. חיפש וחיפש ולא מצא.
שוב שאל עוברים ושבים, מישהו ראה את פסח?
כולם פתחו עליו עיניים ואמרו: פסח ?
ברוך השם שהלך כבר.
השאיר את כולנו מרוששים,
ללא פרוטה בכיס,
עם כאבי בטן וגזים,
וכעת כולנו מתאוששים ממנו.
שמע זאת אותו ערבי ואמר לעצמו: טוב, לפחות לא נפלתי לבד…

MY neighbors stopped to chat as they returned home from walking their dog.
During our friendly conversation,
I asked their little girl what she wanted to be when she grows up.
She said she wanted to be President someday.
Both of her parents, liberal Democrats, were standing there,
so I asked… her, “If you were President what would
be the first thing you would do?”
She replied… “I’d give food and houses to all the homeless people.”
Her parents beamed with pride!
“Wow…what a worthy goal!” I said.
“But you don’t have to wait until you’re President to do that!”
I told her. “What do you mean?” she replied.
So I told her, “You can come over to my house and mow the lawn, pull weeds, and trim my hedge, and I’ll pay you $50.
Then you can go over to the grocery store where the homeless guy hangs out, and you can give him the $50 to use toward food and a new house.”
She thought that over for a few seconds,
then she looked me straight in the eye and asked,
“Why doesn’t the homeless guy come over and do the work,
and you can just pay him the $50?”
I said, “Welcome to the Republican Party.

מסתכל האיש לתוך הרכב והוא רואה מישהו יושב בפנים.הוא שואל את הכורדי מי האיש בפנים.הכורדי עונה לו שזה אח שלו.והאיש שואל למה הוא לא מבקש מאחיו שיפתח את הדלת?

והכורדי עונה. זה בסדר הוא מכון אותי עם חוט הברזל.

Two dwarfs go into a bar, where they pick up two ‘ working girls ‘ and
take them to their separate hotel rooms for an hour of pleasure.

The first dwarf, however, is unable to get an erection.

There may be those among you who support including Spanish in our national language. I for one am 110% against this! We must preserve the exclusivity and above all, the purity of the English language.

I exhort you all to be menshen about this and stand up to their fardrayte arguments and meshugganah, farshtunkene assertions. It wouldn’t be kosher to do anything else.

Remember, when all is said and done, we have English and they’ve got bubkes! The whole myseh is a pain in my tuchas!

A TALMUDIC QUESTION

A well respected San Francisco psychoanalyst raises the following question in the hopes that Talmudic scholars might think more about it:

Is it okay for Jews to take Viagra on Shabbat?

One rabbi says that Jewish law forbids the ingestion of Viagra on Shabbat, lest one violate the infraction of erecting a structure on the Sabbath.

But another rabbi says that as a medication which adds pleasure to the Sabbath (not to mention the rest of the week), it is permissible. However, taking Viagra is taboo during Passover – as well as any other agent that causes things to rise.

Which raises (you’ll excuse the expression) yet another question: What blessing does an observant Jew say before taking the Viagra pill?

There is a choice of three blessings:

A small zoo in Georgia obtained a very rare species of gorilla. Within a few weeks the gorilla, a female, became very difficult to handle.

Upon examination, the zoo’s veterinarian determined the problem. The gorilla was in heat. To make matters worse, the zoo had no male gorillas available.

“Well, I crawl up under one of their Lexus cars and wait for one to unlock the car door. Then I jump out, grab them by the leg, shake the 
shit out of them and eat ’em!”

“Ah!” says the big Crocodile, “I think I see your problem. You’re not getting any real nourishment. See, by the time you finish shaking 
the shit out of a Politician, there’s nothing left but an asshole and a briefcase.”

ואולם משהצטמצמה אוכלוסיית הקופים עד כי קשה היה לאתרם,

חדלו הכפריים ממאמציהם. כיוון שכך, הודיע האיש כי מעתה ישלם בעבור כל קוף 20$.

הודעתו זו חידשה את מאמצי הכפריים והם שבו במרץ למלאכת לכידת הקופים.

אלא שבמהרה אזלה שוב אספקת הקופים והכפריים שבו לעבד את חוותיהם.

האיש העלה את הצעתו ל-25$ ואולם אספקת הקופים הצטמצמה עד למאוד

וקשה היה לראות אפילו קוף אחד ביער, שלא לדבר על ללכוד אחד.

האיש הודיע עתה שהוא מוכן לרכוש כל קוף ב-50$,

אבל מכיוון שהוא חייב לנסוע העירה לצרכים עסקיים מסוימים,

העוזר שלו ייצג אותו בהעדרו ויבצע את רכישת הקופים מהם.

כשנסע האיש פנה העוזר שלו אל הכפריים ואמר להם

“הסתכלו על כל הקופים שבכלוב הענק הזה אותם רכש האיש לאוסף שלו.

אני אמכור לכם כל אחד תמורת 35$ וכשהבוס שלי ישוב לכאן תוכלו למכור לו אותם תמורת 50$ לקוף!”.

הכפריים אספו וריכזו את כל חסכונותיהם וקנו מהעוזר את כל אלפי הקופים.

מאז הם לא ראו יותר את האיש או את העוזר שלו.

 Yesterday my daughter e-mailed me again asking why I didn’t do something useful with my time.

“Like sitting around the pool and drinking wine is not a good thing”, I said. Talking about my “doing something useful” seems to be her favorite topic of conversation.

She was “only thinking of me” she said, and suggested I go down to the senior center and hang out with the guys. I did this and when I got home last night I decided to teach her a lesson about staying out of my business. I e-mailed her and told her that I had joined a parachute club.

She replied, “Are you nuts? You are 83 years old, and now you’re going to start jumping out of airplanes?”

I told her that I even got a membership card and e-mailed a copy to her.

She immediately telephoned me, “Good grief, where are your glasses! This is a membership to a Prostitute Club, not a Parachute Club.”

“Oh man, I’m in trouble again; I really don’t know what to do. I signed up for five jumps a week.”
